alright, here's a more interesting update!

I saw the Rocky Horror Picture Show last night. for the first time. ever! :O what is wrong with me?? I've been missing out!
I must say this ranks among my favorite movies now. gotta love that transvestite.
my only regret is that I wasn't alive to go to the midnight showings back in the day. I want to dress up, throw toast, recite the lines word for word and dance around doing the time warp. :C

bah, I shouldn't complain. this has been an awesome summer. a nice, much needed break. I'm looking forward to seeing everyone at school, but not to all the work. I've decided to get straight A's this year :D...haha yeah, we'll see about that.
I'll miss these days of laziness and no productivity. oh welll...there's weekends at least. that's some consolation.

I can't wait for fall C:

so, I was just thinking about how none of my journal entries so far have been very deep and meaningful, which I would like them to be. maybe this one will change that monotony.
I have a lot of interests. Something new catches my attention practically every other day. lately my obsession has been with Carl Jung, theosophy, lucid dreaming, Carlos Castanada, and thought-forms. pretty trippy stuff. but I was talking to my mom about how when she was young, she had an imaginary friend, as many children do. she said he was as real as can be. he ate, played, slept, talked, and acted independently as far as she could remember. my mind made the connection to thought-forms, or "manifestations of mental energy" as Wikipedia defines them. some people I've met in my life believe that if you imagine something hard enough, then it will come to be. this got me thinking, and I came up with this pitiful little metaphor. here:
let's say that the universe is a book and the mind is a light. with the light we can see and read the book, and perceive it from there as we wish. but can we control the book itself with the light? we can control the light in which the book is viewed, yes, but we cannot change the words.
this makes sense to me. but you know, the mind is a part of this world too. who's to say we can't manifest things from our mind's contents? isn't that what inventing is?
meh, who knows. I'm just rambling.
what do you guys think?

hmmm I need some new music. I'm open to a lot of stuff...but I really like alternative or progressive rock. Indie is good too.
also, if you're an artist: what kind of music inspires you? I'm having art block, blaah
so...any suggestions? :D

well, I just saw the Dark Knight. I have to say, that was pretty amazing. but honestly, the only thing that really affected me was Heath Ledger's role. brilliant. during all of the other parts I was just waiting for him to make another appearance, haha. but...wow.
besides the Joker...the movie was alright. lots of action, cool effects, and all that. but Ledger absolutely made the movie. for me, anyway. and what a shame...jeez. I don't think I can say much more than what has already been said on that subject.
so. if you want to see a brilliant acting job on his part (the other actors were ok, I guess) go see it. at 3 hours, it was kind of long, but there was plenty of action to keep you hooked. my friends and I all bought Joker shirts at the mall afterwards :P
I'm prettyy tired now, so time for some sleep. I bet my dreams will be filled with Jokers.

so....call me wesley, I guess. I am reluctant because I have an unreasonable suspicion that someone I know will come across this. let's just hope that doesn't happen.....that would be embarrassing D:
yess, wesley. that is my name after all. i have a love for many things. particularly life. i can think of nothing better than living.
i also love music, but who doesn't. i play guitarrr, and i reckon i'm pretty good at it! i love art. photography, writing, drawing, painting. particularly writing. i can think of period of time in my life when i haven't been writing little stories or journals and whatnot. "writing to me is akin to breathing" as ray bradbury already said. i'll say it again!
writing...yes. i feel that i have nearly perfected the technical craft of writing, and now i must move on to developing my own style. that's how it goes. there are tonsss of generic, technically perfect writers out there, but none possess that one little spark in their writing, that diverse, unique style that sets them apart. you have to take it to the next level once you know your way around a set of words and commas. that's where i'm at.
how old am i??!?! too young indeed, but an old soul, as i have been told many times. guess!!
hmmm...what else. i love making friends. but you have to be interesting. that's a must. but i will be your friend if you are interesting enough. :D
muuusic...i  love bob dylan, coldplay, between the buried and me, fall of troy, pink floyd, tera melos, band of horses, mgmt, the mars volta. stuff like that. but i am horribly sad because my green ipod nano (the old, cooler kind) is broken as of today. wheel not working. awesome. :[
